Robert Perin
CEO
Rob oversees the corporate strategy for Protak Scientific and has a passion for continuous change and innovation. Originally one of the early members in Blackberry, he went on to be Senior Commercial Director, Europe for just under a decade and has worked as an investor and advisor for several start-ups in the tech sector. He has a passion for his sports cars, enjoys fine wines from his homeland Italy, but never the two together.
KATE MARSHALL
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Kate takes overall responsibility for technical operations at Protak Scientific, ensuring the successful implementation of the Enzyme Indicator technology within diverse applications around the world. A Microbiologist by profession with 20 years at GlaxoSmithkline (GSK), Kate has extensive experience in the aseptic manufacture of medicinal products that was gained in roles aligned to Quality, Validation, and Operations specialising in sterilization and decontamination processes. When not at work, Kate can be found enjoying the trails of the South downs on her bike or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Especially when it comes to Sunday Roast and lemon drizzle cake.
JACQUELINE STORRS
GLOBAL BUSINESS DIRECTOR
Jacqueline is responsible for the development and execution of the business strategy and delivering global growth for Protak Scientific. She has held international B2B commercial roles within manufacturing and distribution multinationals for over 20 years in the Life Sciences sector. Experienced in delivering complex customer projects of a highly technical/regulated nature she thrives on the challenges and rewards these bring to all global stakeholders. Based for 16 years in mainland Europe, she never forgets where she began; on the UK launch of DNA Fingerprinting now a world-renowned diagnostic technique. A huge food and wine lover, in her spare time she will be cooking, hill walking with her dog or skiing glaciers.
WAYNE D J RABIN
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Responsible for our marketing communications and brand strategy, public relations and events. He has a diverse background which has included senior management roles spanning both public and private sectors in pharmaceuticals (with Teva Pharmaceuticals), healthcare (UK National Health Service), central government (Department of Health and UK Cabinet Office), energy, financial services, telecoms and logistics. He places high value on innovation and creativity, the development of memorable customer experiences and building customer loyalty.
Wayne regularly plays squash and other sports, is an avid reader – often with three books at any one time, loves gourmet food experiences, collecting wine and is active in his local community as a schools governor, trustee and founder of a charity in his home town of Rugby, Warwickshire.
Kermashnie de Sousa
Global Account Manager
Kermashnie’s duties include managing the commercial and customer interphase of existing and new customers, from the initial inquiry stage right through to the customer relationship management phase. Graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with 22 years of commercial experience within the aviation and medical device industry. During her leisure time, she loves family time whilst experiencing adventures, from roller coaster rides to discovering outdoor garden gems.
Tracey Wigfield
Quality & Regulatory Manager
Tracey is responsible for ensuring that Protak’s Scientific product meets the requirements of government regulations and that high-quality product standards are provided to meet customer needs. She spent over 35 years in the In-Vitro Diagnostic sector, holding various roles within manufacturing and Quality. She collects animals in her spare time (currently 3 cats, 2 rabbits, and a grumpy tortoise). She also provides a holiday home to 2 more rabbits from the school where her daughter teaches and pampers the office fish at every opportunity.
REBECCA WILDERSPIN
VALIDATION AND PRODUCT SPECIALIST
Rebecca spends most of her time providing expertise to Protak’s Scientific customers to enable them to get the most out of their gaseous decontamination system using their EI data. She also manages the company’s internal validation requirements and provides expert validation services. She has worked in validation for over 10 years starting as a microbiologist in sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing at GSK before joining the team in 2020. When she is free, she loves traveling around visiting old friends, and discovering new places. Otherwise, she’s either at the cinema watching premieres or at her garden, ignoring half-started DIY projects and enjoying a good book washed down with an ice-cold gin!
MOHAMMED MOHAMMED
PRODUCT SPECIALIST
Mohammed’s role is to support customers as a specialist in rapid decontamination using Enzyme Indicators. He used to work in food microbiology, sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical industry as well as start-up laboratory and pharmaceutical facilities before joining the company. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, rockets and space exploration.
MARIA PAOLA COCCO
MARKETING MANAGER
Maria Paola focuses on generating online sales leads, email and social media campaigns. She used to work in a similar role with our CEO for search engine sector companies.
She loves travelling and even though she is originally from Rome her favourite city is London and she dreams to travel to New York one day. As an Italian, she’s a proper foodie and talented cook, especially when it comes to seafood. Her specialty is Amatriciana.
SJ CLOWSER
FINANCE & OPERATIONS MANAGER
SJ has been in the company for 4 years and has worked in similar roles for nearly 8 years. She is kept busy working with all the departments to facilitate the operations at Protak Scientific from customer liaison through to logistics and office management. SJ also handles all aspects of finance and supports the CEO. When not at work, you will find SJ in the gym lifting heavy metal or exploring the countryside!
