Use of EIs in Vapour Phase Hydrogen Peroxide Decontamination Cycle Optimisation and Rapid Validation
Find out how AstraZeneca adopted Enzyme Indicators to optimise its Vapour Phase Hydrogen Peroxide decontamination cycle and deliver rapid validation.
AstraZeneca has worked with Protak to implement Enzymatic Indicators (EIs) in order to optimise its sterility testing isolator gassing cycles.
In this case study, AstraZeneca detail how the quantitative nature of the EI data has enabled successful identification and validation of an optimised cycle. This has halved the original gassing cycle, leading to benefits such as:
- Increased Isolator productivity
- Less isolator downtime
- Reduced costs
You can also learn how EI data provides AstraZeneca with greater confidence in instances of erroneous Biological Indicator (BI) results. In addition, EIs deliver increased data across the sterility isolator chamber, allowing for higher confidence that sufficient cycle decontamination is achieved in all challenge locations.
This demonstrates how EIs work as a beneficial companion for BI data when looking to optimise productivity of current isolators, confirm robustness of the bio-decontamination cycle whilst also benfiting from a streamlined, data driven validation approach.
